Dr. Sarah Alsgaard is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides evidence-based, patient-centered mental health care grounded in a whole-person philosophy. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from George Mason University, where she received advanced clinical and leadership training in psychiatric-mental health care. Dr. Alsgaard brings a deep commitment to community mental health, with a breadth of clinical experience across diverse settings including acute inpatient treatment, outpatient psychiatry, school-based health centers, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), and First Episode Psychosis (FEP) programs. In 2021, Dr. Alsgaard opened her private practice to create a space where patients feel heard, respected, and supported in healing. Recognizing the inherent complexity and nuance of the human experience, she approaches each individual with clinical expertise, empathy, and cultural humility. Her practice integrates the latest advancements in psychiatric research with a comprehensive understanding of the biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that influence mental health.
